Paper Abstract:
|
Large manufacturing systems are complex systems that have many similarities with biological systems. Both of them
consist of a large number of entities, the interaction among them are complex and dynamic. This paper proposes a novel
principle of optimization technique to solve scheduling problems in manufacturing systems, inspired by the social
behaviour of bird flocking or fish schooling particle swarm optimization (PSO). The proposed control scheme explores
a solution in which the optimal assembly of a given amount of periodic and aperiodic parts to the job shop scheduling
problem in a parallel machine model is computed. |
