Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents a Protégé plugin for storing OWL ontologies in relational databases. It is possible to modify the
initial logical and physical storage model according to the needs of the user. In order to do so, the knowledge contained
in the ontology is translated to an internal representation, and some configurations files are used. These files define the
rules that generate the storage models. Both, the internal representation and the configuration files are XML files. The
tool presents a graphical interface. Using this plugin, developers of applications in the Semantic Web will be able to
create a relational database for storing their ontologies easily. Furthermore, the storage model can be optimized for the
application requirements. |
