Paper Abstract:
|
Aging is an inevitable and significant worldwide phenomenon. 22% of Koreans aged 65 and over are estimated to be mild cognitive impairment (MCI) patients in 2017 (Nam et al., 2017). 17 metropolitan dementia centers have been established by Korean Dementia Management Act and 217 dementia counseling centers are operated in the public local health centers. Music therapy is believed helpful for interacting with the elderly with MCI, and music can elicit body movement stimulating perceptual and behavioral systems (Samson et al., 2015; Zatorre et al., 2007). A pilot study was conducted in the study for ergonomic assessment to develop a digital music instrument to be played by the older adults. Ergonomically designed digital music system might be useful to enhance the accurate movement and mental abilities of the seniors. |
