Paper Abstract:
|
The increased ubiquitous nature of mobile phones have made them a vital source of communication and have provided users with a way of get information anywhere and anytime. While mobile computing provides a potentially vast number of possible uses, the cost and platform incompatibility have inhibited the adoption and development of a wide range of mobile services. This paper details the development of a prototype Short Message Service (SMS) query system which will be used to receive SMS queries and send navigation driving directions to any mobile device. This paper discusses the overall technical structure of this prototype as well as the results of a needs survey and usability study conducted on the prototype. |
