Paper Abstract:      Distributed software environments require a powerful communication layer between the nodes that participate to the Grid. When the software is dealing with shared storage, especially ACID compliant databases, a series of performance and scalability issues occur because it is difficult for databases to keep pace with the increasing number of requests received from all nodes. Our approach in solving this issue is an abstract, language independent distributed caching system, based on AMQP protocol that offloads databases. The cache implements key persistence and provides delivery guarantee. We also report the performance figures in a test environment, which show near wire-speed capabilities.
