Paper Abstract:      Augmented Reality is a discipline that enriches the user perception of the environment by superposing virtually generated objects over images taken from the real world. Due to the rapid evolution of embedded technology, this kind of applications is taking more and more importance nowadays. Currently, there is a wide variety of frameworks for the development of Augmented Reality Applications. These frameworks provide the basic required services but any of them use the available knowledge to provide advanced services, such as the presentation of context-dependant information. Besides, they use complex techniques to solve communication among components, service discovery and concurrency. We introduce a novel approach which takes advantage of Multi-Agent Systems concepts to develop and deploy Augmented Reality Applications. Furthermore, depending on the internal state of the user different information is selected and displayed. Finally, a case study is defined in order to illustrate a possible application of the system.
