Paper Abstract:
|
Domain Name System (DNS) performs translation between host names and IP addresses. However, as name resolution is
required by major network applications, several security issues related to DNS occur. This paper introduces a new
security enhancement to DNS called Lightweight DNS Security (LDNSSec). We show that the proposed scheme not only
can solve security problems and overcome limitations of existing DNS security approaches, but it also offers several
security properties such as non-repudiation. Moreover, LDNSSec is much lightweight compared to existing ones which
results in better transaction performance. Furthermore, applying a limited-use key generation technique to LDNSSec can
greatly increase its security as well as performance. |
