Paper Abstract:
|
Software agents programmed with Agent Interaction Protocols (AIPs) typically lack the flexibility to accommodate
dynamic changes in the system. The alternative approaches for formalizing agent interactions which purely rely on
agents mental attitudes (i.e. beliefs and intentions) to decide on their actions, offer too much flexibility in agents
behavior which is often not desired in practical agent based systems. In this paper we discuss a flexible approach to
formalize agent message in dynamic agent systems. In order to exhibit flexible behaviour and accommodate dynamic
changes in the system agents are not required to follow a fixed sequence of messages such as AIPs in order to achieve
their goals. Instead agent messages are formalized dynamically as individual message exchanges or dialogue episodes.
Agents are then given the opportunity to learn and compose a sequence of dialogue episodes based on their goals and the
previous history of message exchange. |
