Paper Abstract:
|
The major achievements of the University of Seville (UoS) regarding the introduction of ICT in the teaching-learning process can be summarized into five main blocks: the provision of basic infrastructures and corporate facilitating systems, the development of academic and administrative management systems, the development of e-government facilities, the implementation of a global knowledge management concept and the set-up of eLearning Services with a comprehensive approach. This is all possible thanks to a well defined strategy that involves ICT in all aspects, from their management systems to its core business development, this is, education and research. Planning has been crucial as well as the involvement of any department in the University. This article describes the way the University of Seville has planned its evolution towards the new scenario defined by the Bologna Process, focusing on the enhancement of its Learning Environment over the limits of its own Community. In fact, once its scenario is mature, the UoS is setting up the mechanisms for further collaboration and sharing of infrastructures and contents with other Universities and organizations. |
