Paper Abstract:
|
Traditional undergraduate accounting teaching has relied on physical lectures and seminars to disseminate information. This approach may be failing in an era when students seem to want more flexible learning and a constructivist approach to help them learn by doing as opposed to just listening. By utilizing the facilities offered by the internet, a blended approach to teaching is trying to improve results with online assessments, online seminars and recorded lectures offered in addition to the traditional approach. Whilst it is too early to report on the success or otherwise of this attempt, the early evidence is that students who care about their studies appreciate the flexibility it gives them and are responding well. |
