Paper Abstract:
|
This research project has the goal to identify factors influencing the attraction of web sites. In this paper a case study is
reported, where three different design paradigms of online shops are tested if or if not they contribute to the perceived
attractiveness of the user. The first design paradigm in question is a search mask as it currently standard design. The
second design paradigm is product visualization with direct manipulation to interact with products and select these
products. The third design paradigm is 3D Virtual World, where the user is supposed to move around in the virtual world
with his avatar.
The contexts of the study are models which describe the attraction of a product as a combination of enjoyment (hedonic
qualitiy) and usability (ease of use, usefulness). This connection is examined for the three above described design
conditions. |
