Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents a Java applet that graphically displays the different elements involved in hypothesis testing: null and alternative hypothesis, type I and type II errors, sample size, p-value, OC curve. By way of an example, hypothesis testing for the mean of a normal population of known variance has been selected. The novelty in relation to other existing applets is that it incorporates a graphic means of visualising the concept of sample distribution, linked to hypothesis testing theory. |
