Paper Abstract:
|
This paper exploits syntactic principles of certain programming languages for a semantic transformation of numerical programs. We propose a syntax-directed approach to the generation of derivative code by compilers. Our focus is on tangent-linear and adjoint codes that play an important role in modern numerical methods for computational science and engineering. |
