Paper Abstract:
|
There is a growing interest from industry for using Risk Analysis for plant decision making. The increasing trend to translate industrial variables into economic terms has also a widely recognized interest. Among these industrial variables, plant maintenance decision-making is exceptionally important because of its economic consequences. In this context, this paper presents an approach for using a previously developed Money Based Maintenance model in conducting the constrained multi-objective optimization of preventive maintenance intervals based on a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm. Thus, a case study of an injection machine is performed using this approach, which shows the benefits of adopting both the model and the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm. Model results are contrasted with simulation based on Discrete Event Simulation, guaranteeing the accuracy of the results. |
